• Regular exercise may reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s disease by 30 to 40 percent, according to an analysis that explored the effects of physical activity on dementia.

• Stop smoking. People who quit smoking, drink moderately, exercise, and eat five daily servings of produce live an average of 14 years longer than people with none of these behaviors.

• Yoga may help treat depression. Patients already taking anti-depressant medication who attended six or more Iyengar yoga classes showed reductions in depressed mood as well as less anger and anxiety.
